Nanango - South Burnett - Swim Meet - 24th July

Caboolture Swim Meet - 4th July

Every Meet that we have attended, has its own unique character and Caboolture had the unexpected waiting for us too.

Sue Donovan joined us for the first time at a competitive Meet after all her regular training swims and it was great to have you join us. We also had our first visitor in Elize Koob, all the way from New York, USA. Elize has been swimming with us for the past weeks and we were really chuffed to have her 'take the plunge' along with Sue. This indoor 25m pool is compact and the spectators get the splash in the stands, as well as the dripping from the roof! Once again, our swimmers made their mark and our Redlands Club closed the day with a 4th position overall. Congratulations to everyone for their committed efforts. And we had the supporters .... as usual! Once more, the deck support came from Gill Mackenzie, John Daly, Sharon Dettmer, Miss Lower, Mum and Dad Tolcher, with our own Simon Bole-Brown the Recorder for the Meet.

Unfortunately, the Meet was very short for Elize, who dislocated her left knee when leaving the starting block in her second swim - the 50m freestyle. This was a real blow, as she had been looking forward to the Meet, as we had, and we were very concerned for her welfare. After icepacks to her knee, tea and cookies, lots of attention and tlc, Elize returned to the stands to watch the rest of the Meet. Thank you for joining us Elize and we hope to see you back another day to complete the job that you started. We wish you a full recovery and safe travels when you leave our shores to return home in mid-July.
